This is a crucial insight that led us to design an application focused on “floor verification.” The app downloads the store’s digital inventory, and after associates quickly scan all items on their sales floor using the app, a Missing Items list appears with the products they need to pull from the back-store. Stock managers tried to manually keeping track of their inventory with pen & paper, but this became challenging with weekly product receptions. We designed an app to help stock managers keep track of their inventory. We created an app for associates to report any device-related concerns and receive support. Forms are used to distinguish various problems and capture issue-related questions such as quantity of devices, serial numbers, and more. However, when customers would come in store to pick up their orders, they would need to wait in line at the cash register, even though they already paid. The Pickup App was designed so associates could process pickups any where in the store, removing the dependency from the POS. Its quick-scan feature confirms the items the customer is picking up.
